Forum Title: Order of installation for Garage doors and trim
I am putting in new garage doors and I want to replace the old aluminium trim while I'm at it. What should I do first? Replace the trim and then install the doors or should the doors go in and then repalce the trim?

IMO, you have a snowball's chance of getting the fogged IGU replaced under warranty, even if the home is 5 yrs old. But you might remove the screen, crank the window open and look for a sticker in the top of the frame of the window. There's a chance that there may be an NFRC sticker in the top of the window- something that is required by today's standards- dunno about 5 yrs ago. You could also check the aluminum spacer bar between the glass, and see if there are any engravings in the spacer. Sometimes it will have initials, like TLW96 which might indicate a manufacturer. The problem is that a lot of vinyl windows are non-descript. Too bad builders don't always leave an info packet such as warranty cards and such for new homeowners. No matter who made the window, if you call a local glass company they can come out, measure the glass, have one made, and install it for you.
