Forum Title: Casement Window Repair/Replace

Hi All, I have 6 casement windows in an unheated breezeway. The wood holding the glass has deterioated beyond normal repair. Can just the frame/window be replaced? Is it outrageously expensive to have the windows custom-made so I can put them in the old frames. The window hardware is pretty good. The frames they close into can be cleaned up. Do casment windows comes in sets of three across? Mine are three on one wall and three on another. I'm not sure if I'm looking at three seperately framed windows or one big triple window setup. House is from the late 50's and is a small ranch. Thanks for any and all advice.

Full glass storm doors are a very very bad idea...it can increase the heat on the door greatly..esp if they ever get any sun. If you check most makers websites and warranty info..that invalidates everything. Some require a spar varnish (ext) or ext poly topcoat. I think the varnish is better. What do the finishing instructions say? Contact the maker and get the straight skinny from them.
